Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (KJV)
Dear Friends,
Unfortunately, the economy has slowed our progress momentarily. However, the Lord prevails spiritually with those who are called for his cause. It has been a blessing to have contacts with faithful churches despite the times.
We had a chance to participate in our church’s Spring Program. The program lasted six weeks and the theme was “Honoring our Country’s Servicemen.” We canvassed the community to invite area people out to the services. We also began a B service for all the children that showed on the bus ministry. What a blessing – it was a time of people coming, hearing and being baptized. This was a time full of the Holy Spirit. Throughout the year, George and Judy continued to teach the Junior Boys’ and Girls’ Sunday School Classes.
May 10th we headed for Frostburg, MD and shared our ministry with Faith Independent Baptist. I was a joy to talk to members that support our fellow loved ones in Alaska (the Craigs.)
May 2nd and 16th, Judy and the girls were invited to a couple mother daughter banquets for Mother’s Day. It was a true blessing of encouragement to spend time with Sister’s in Christ from local churches.
June 8th -11th, we attended a Jubilee in Ephrata, PA. It’s always a time of revival at the Jubilee. June12’th-13th, George and George attended a father’s-son Camp and Canoe trip with the men from our home church for father’s day. The 2 Georges were dumped out of their canoe by unseen forces under the water. After a quick dunk and a short but panic-stricken swim, every thing was back on track. The only loss was a fishing pole. We thank the Lord for his protection. We have heard many stories from that trip and there is even talk of a trip next year.
June 27th-July2nd, we had a family come stay in our home for a revival meeting at a local church. Due to a shortage of space, we moved into our camper and stayed in our church parking lot while they were there. We were able to bring a few families from our home church to the meetings as well.
July 17th, Judy was asked to speak at our church’s “Sarah’s Daughter’s” meeting for the church ladies. It was a true time of encouragement with the women sharing their wisdom.
August 2nd, we were invited to a small church in Penton, NJ. This was a very historical church called Penton Chapel. The Holy Spirit definitely attended the service through spiritual song, testimonies and the sharing of our mission and preaching.
August 27th, we had an encouraging visit with the Craig’s from Fort Yukon, Alaska. We had dinner in a State Park in southern NJ and a time for sharing our experiences. It was definitely a kindred spirit moment. It’s always a blessing to see our Brother and Sister in Christ.
August 29th, we were invited to Pastor Guyton’s bar-b-que at New Jerusalem Baptist Church of Bridgeton, NJ. It was a blessed time of fellowship. Pastor Guyton has been blessed with the gift of cooking and caring for the youth in the area. This is truly a blessed church with the gift of providing for the needy. We were encouraged by his hospitality and the possibility of an upcoming meeting for us to present the Lord’s work in Fort Yukon Alaska.
September 8th, we began home schooling. It has been quite a blessing (task :~). The children jumped into action. Thus, far they are on target. We just continue to pray for such efforts and materials. The Lord has provided this far and we believe He will continue. It reminds me of the story of George Muller and the orphanage kids awaiting the breakfast they thanked the Lord for in advance. As the children sat down to eat at empty plates, the door rang with bread provided by a local baker’s burden of not being able to sleep (awaken by the Lord) and milk provided by a local milk service’s truck having a flat tire in front of the orphanage that morning. Oh! How the Lord provides! What an excellent missionary story!
October was a month of growth within our home church. There was spiritual counseling as well as new families coming to know the Lord, being baptized and entering the church. Between October and November, the discipleship class has expanded from a handful of people to about sixteen people. What a blessing to see people eager to learn more about their Lord. Revival has always been an influx in the rough times. Praise God!
The Lord has really blessed us during the Thanksgiving season. He supplied all our needs. We had our table furnished with all the traditional foods and family. We also enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast with our church family.
The Lord also blessed the family during the celebration on His birthday. This is one holiday I never understood why we received gifts when He is the gift and it is His birthday. However, it is the most joyous time of the year.
We praise the Lord for his continued guidance in our service in the past year. Praise the Lord for George’s accomplishment of his passenger endorsement for the bus ministry. Praise the Lord for the many supportive churches and individuals for our ministry. Praise the Lord for being their in the times of our needs of daily living at home. May the Lord bless you.
We are currently in the process of changing housing due to the lease ending in our missionary home. Pray for the move we are about to make.
Prayer Request:
Please pray for our home church’s bus ministry with the required transportation.
In Christ’s Work,
George & Judy Pine
